We went to have a look at the boardwalk path to check the trees after the recent winds and rain. Near the car park end of the path we found a branch from a leaning tree crossing the boardwalk. The tree roots were sitting in saturated ground and the marsh very wet and unable to support the weight of the tree. It had therefore continued to lean pulling the roots out of the ground and a branch made passage along the boardwalk difficult to negotiate.

Today I took a hand saw down to the Wood and cut off the encroaching branches to make life a lot easier to pass without too much effort.

We still have the problem of sorting out the trees nearby that are supporting the weight of a mature fallen tree that will, in time cause them to lean further over the path.
A site meeting of the Management Committee has been arranged for 31st January to decide a course of action.
